Welcome Alumnus, Brothers and Guest. We are the Kappa Upsilon Chapter of Alpha Kappa Psi. We were chartered on the campus of South Carolina State University in 1981.
In Loving Memory of Dale Hayes Jr.
I didn’t know what to say
I didn’t know what to do
When I found out my next heartbreak
Was the thought of losing you
You’re my Brother, you’re my friend, & to others so much more.
When God placed you in our lives we didn’t know what he had in store.
You’ve brightened many days with that “bracey smile”
It’s hard to believe that I won’t hear that laugh for a while.
After I stopped crying & all the tears stopped flowing
I realized this isn’t what Deejay would want me to be doing.
So I prayed for strength & comfort from the pain
I felt your love & presence flow over me like rain
God placed you amongst troubled people
Touching our lives was your test
We all loved you dearly
But God definitely loved you best
I know you were excited to meet your king
God was very pleased to introduce you to heaven he said these things
“ Meet Dale Hayes Jr. this man is a prince
He completed every task I placed on his list.
So rejoice my people
I present to you my son
Give Deejay his wings
Because his work on earth is done.”
Although we may shed a tear from time to time
Dale Hayes Jr. will always be on our minds
And although his body has left this earth
Remember Deejay’s spirit because that’s what we met first.
